The practical information

Renseignements pratiques :

  • Lighting:

Mont Saint-Michel is illuminated from the night fall to midnight all year long.

  • Luggage storage :

Because of a security plan the lockers are closed. Visitors have to keep their luggages.

  • Access and information:

See also links: access & times of the tides.
Prices for the car-parks : 5 euros per car for a day, 10 euros per camping car, 1,50 euro per motorbike, free of charge for buses.

Precisions for disabled people:

Access and parking:
On the parking lot some emplacements are hold back (5€ per day and per vehicle) for the drivers who have the sticker “disabled” stuck on their car. These emplacements are located approximately 200m from the site main entrance.
When those car parks are covered by the sea (high tides periods), you can park your car upon the causeway (from approximately 2 hours before to 2 hours after the high tide hour). Mind you can be parked more and less away from the entrance, depending on the affluence and the hour you arrive. Car park agents will direct you as soon as you come.

Visit of the Mont in itself:
There are no steps between the car parks and the site. Inside, you can walk through the village along the “Grande rue” (main street) on a 200m paved way, which climbs progressively.
On the top of the main street, close to the parish church, starts the “Grand Degré” stairs (350 steps) which leads to the Abbey. There are no elevators to access it.
