In the heart of the old town, the outbuildings of the former episcopal palace, transformed into a prison during the French Revolution, now house the museum's collections. Around paintings and sculptures, are presented the collections of art and popular traditions, costumes and headdresses of Avranchin, Norman interior.
The visit ends with rooms devoted to the Second World War, and in particular to the breakthrough of Avranches.
