The film L'Affaire Nevenka (2024) is inspired by true events. In the late 1990s, at the age of twenty-five, Nevenka Fernández was elected councillor for the mayor of Ponferrada, the charismatic and popular Ismael Alvarez.
Nevenka Fernández was his protégé, his new conquest and then his favorite. When she tried to escape his grip, she was manipulated and harassed for months. To escape, Nevenka decided to denounce his actions and sue him.
