An immersive, intelligent and hard-hitting show with surprising resonance.
A state in chronic deficit, where the richest escape taxation. A regime on its last legs. A people at the end of their tether, demanding justice and seeing nothing of it. A rich but stalled country, prey to the vagaries of a deregulated climate. Such is France in the summer of 1789. Until one night, in Versailles, everything changed. It was the Night of August 4, 1789. Hugues Duchêne brilliantly adapts Bertrand Guillot?s historical novel, brought to the stage by Maxime Pambet, who plays all the characters admirably.
A program in partnership with the Établissement public national du Mont Saint-Michel and the Centre des monuments nationaux.
The show will tour 3 local heritage sites emblematic of the society of order abolished by the French Revolution: an abbey (Mont Saint-Michel Abbey - February 14), a château (Château de Vassy in Brécey - February 11) and a republican site (Hôtel de Ville in Avranches - February 12). A unique experience to be lived and re-experienced differently each time!
VISITS to heritage sites from 7pm. Free with registration ? Information: projetsparticipatifs.culture@msm-normandie.fr
Ages 14 and up.
