On the shore, a stone's throw from the Pointe du Grouin du Sud, with a breathtaking view of Mont Saint-Michel, the Ecomuseum de la Baie is an interpretation center where you can discover how the Bay's natural environments work, how man has exploited these very special spaces for centuries, and how the landscape has evolved over the ages.
Explore the flora and fauna throughout the seasons, and the characteristics of the different natural environments. Today, preserving this balance is a major challenge for this UNESCO World Heritage site. Man lives in this environment and has always exploited its riches. In the past, salt was extracted using an original process that has now disappeared. The salt-maker's workshop offers a new insight into this ancestral technique.
The once very active professional fishing industry has been replaced by new activities such as oyster, mussel and salt-meadow sheep farming. Objects collected in the area (fishing gear, nets, etc.) tell the story of this local history.
All these areas, with their films, models and interactive terminals, are accessible to young and old alike.

Last ticket sale 1 hour before site closes.
